My husband and I plus his 6 yr old will be in San Diego on New Years Eve. Is there anything exciting and kid friendly to do then? Any fireworks?

I have a brown thumb. I would like to fix that in the new year, and was wondering if there were any (LJ?) groups that are local to San Diego where an extreme neophyte will feel welcome and not laughed out of the building. I would prefer internet groups, so I can ask questions at random, when they come to me, but will also consider actual meetings/people. I belong to Quail Botanical Gardens; they have classes I think, but am looking for cheap-or-free resources. Thanks!

I'm looking for any recommendations of an inexpensive and good place to get my eyebrows waxed. Every place that I've looked up so far is charging $18-$25. That seems too steep to me. I'm located near Hillcrest. Thanks!

I felt something, (I'm in Kerney Mesa at the moment) and I've seen some people on twitter report they felt something, but I'm not finding it on USGS.

Did anyone else feel it?

I am flying tomorrow out of San DIego International, and I was wondering where is a good place to park that is affordable and convenient. We will be gone for 11 days. Thanks in advance!
